Richard D. Winkler

Richard D. Winkler is a partner in the firm of Winkler, Kurtz, Winkler & Kuhn, LLP. He obtained his Bachelors Degree from SUNY Cortland, graduating cum laude in 1978. In 1981, he earned his law degree from Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles. While in law school, Mr. Winkler clerked for the well-regarded plaintiff's personal injury firm of Greenberg and Pan ish located in the Wilshire District of Los Angeles. After being admitted to the California Bar, Mr. Winkler practiced law with the same firm until relocating to Long Island in 1983.

Following admission to the New York Bar in 1983, Richard D. Winkler associated with attorney Jerrold Benowitz, Esq. and soon thereafter was offered a partnership in the law firm of Benowitz, Manning and Winkler. In 1987, he joined with his brother, James Winkler, and Sanders Kurtz to form Winkler, Kurtz & Winkler.

Mr. Winkler is best known for representing victims who have sustained injuries during accidents. Attorney Winkler has successfully handled personal injury cases involving automobile accidents, construction accidents, and slip and fall accidents. In the past, Mr. Winkler has taken on large insurance companies and expertly litigated product liability cases against leading corporations like Upjohn, E.R. Squibb, Firestone, Goodyear, Volkswagen and Nissan. Richard D. Winkler has years of litigation experience and takes pride in providing his clients with the best legal representation possible. Richard D. Winkler is a member of the California State Bar, New York State Bar and the New York State Trial Lawyers Association. He is also an active member of the Grievance Committee of the Suffolk County Bar Association which reviews complaints of attorney misconduct. He has been presented with an Award of Merit from the Association for chairing a task force to review recommendations promoting Client Satisfaction. Attorney Winkler was also voted "Boss of the Year" by the Suffolk County Legal Secretaries Association. In 2009, he was selected to judge the Suffolk County Finals of the New York State High School Mock Trial Tournament.
